Nepean Nickel Project
Project Highlights
Nepean Deeps: potential down-plunge continuation of the Ni sulphides below the historic mine workings
Historic Mine Area: high-grade Ni-S mineralisation from < 50m from surface
Regional Exploration: ~10km of underexplored strike of fertile Nepean ultramafics
High-grade Nickel Sulphide mine with historic resources and huge exploration potential
The Nepean nickel mine produced > 32kt Ni at av. recovered grade of ~ 3% Ni Huge potential to build a significant high-grade Ni sulphide inventory via 3 focus areas
Rocktivity’s Approach
We believe that Nepean is best developed by accessing the remaining underground Nickel stocks via a new decline. This will allow Rocktivity to access the most recently discovered high grade nickel at the eastern end of the resource. We intend to commence mining at Nepean by the end of 2023, with a view to produce 15-20kt of ore a month. Ore will be trucked to the BHP nickel concentrator for processing under an OTCPA agreement. Further underground drilling of the resource will take place from underground drill platforms that will be developed in conjunction with the decline.
Results from drilling by Auroch Minerals in 2021 extended the strike of shallow high-grade Ni sulphides:
8m @ 4.30% Ni & 0.37% Cu from 35m, incl 2m @ 6.86% Ni & 0.62% Cu from 37m
8m @ 3.21% Ni & 0.13% Cu from 63m, incl 2m @ 7.51% Ni & 0.39% Cu from 68m
- 2 lenses of HG massive Ni sulphides each up to 6m thick
- <100m deep now defined for >500m strike
