Building a Titanium Opportunity
The Dragon Rock Titanium Project is located approximately 25km north of Newdegate in Western Australia, within the South West Terrane of the Archean Yilgarn Craton. Historical exploration identified two areas of strong magnetic anomalism across the Dragon Rocks tenement.
Independent petrographic analysis of drill chip samples has identified ilmenite as a major ore mineral across multiple samples, commonly occurring alongside magnetite and hematite.
Fresh primary ilmenite was also identified within several samples, providing an important mineralogical foundation for further evaluation of the project’s titanium potential.
Rocktivity’s Approach
Rocktivity is focused on combining historical exploration data with modern mineralogical and technical work to build a better understanding of the Dragon Rock mineral system.
Historical ground magnetic surveying identified significant magnetic features across the project area. The northern anomaly was interpreted as a continuation of the broader magnetic complex extending from the neighbouring Mt Vernon area, while the southern anomaly was identified as a pronounced magnetic feature potentially associated with a structurally complex fold closure.
Further work will focus on establishing the grade, distribution, continuity and potential recoverability of the titanium-bearing mineralisation to determine the appropriate pathway for advancing the project.
Confirmed Ilmenite Mineralisation
Independent petrographic examination of drill material has identified a recurring mineral assemblage containing ilmenite, magnetite and hematite, together with plagioclase, orthopyroxene and clinopyroxene.
Ilmenite was consistently recorded as a major ore mineral within the samples examined, with fresh primary ilmenite identified in several samples.
The results provide Rocktivity with an important technical foundation for further work aimed at understanding the scale and potential of the Dragon Rock Titanium Project.
